Get to know … The Black & White Bridging Team
In the 7th in our new series of ‘meet the team’ biogs, we caught up with one of our newest team members, Greg Applewhaite, to hear more about his role and what life has been like for him so far at Black & White Bridging.
How long have you been at Black & White Bridging and what is your role?
Just one month and my role is Relationship Manager for the North.
What has stood out so far since you joined the Black & White Bridging team?
The People! Everyone works hard, is friendly, and very knowledgeable.
How did you first get into property lending?
After living in London for 5 years and gaining a few years of unsecured lending experience, I moved to Manchester where one of the largest industries is property finance. I applied for a few roles and got one at Together, and that is how I got into the industry.
What is the best thing about your role, and why?
Meeting new people(brokers) from all over the UK and building on existing and new relationships.
What motivates you?
My kids! I am very motivated to provide the best life for them.
If you weren’t a Relationship Manager at Black & White Bridging, what would you like to be and why?
An Accountant. I have always loved accounting and currently hold a BSc in Accounting and a MSc in Accounting and Finance.
Tell us something about you that we don’t know.
I’m a massive sports fan, in particular football and cricket. I have supported Manchester United all my life and I also support the West Indies cricket team.
What 3 people dead or alive would you most like to have dinner with?
Ronaldinho, Obama, and Malcolm X.
What do you think separates Black & White Bridging from other lenders?
Our Transparency – what we market is exactly what you get. We prioritise relationships over numbers, but we do have some of the best pricing around too.
When you’re not at work, what are you most likely to be doing?
Watching/playing sports or doing something with the kids.
What are three things you can’t live without?
My phone, football, and floss (hate when food is stuck between my teeth).
